An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior clinical fellow to join the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Dermatology Department. An ideal role for someone interested in a career in dermatology, this is an exciting opportunity to learn within one of the largest dermatology departments in London, with an established reputation for dermatology training.
The Dermatology Department consists of comprehensive general and specialist outpatient clinics, including consultants with highly specialised interests, and acts as a tertiary referral centre for eczema, connective tissue disorders and psoriasis, as well as having an active clinical trials unit. The department also runs a comprehensive skin cancer service with a full range of treatment options including Mohs surgery. There is additionally some inpatient capacity that provides care for the local population in North and North Central London.
The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of dermatological conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings, and will be expected to treat patients on behalf of and under the direction of the Consultants.
Main duties of the job
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) post based at Royal Free Hospital. The Dermatology Department is a busy and dynamic unit that provides care both for the local population in North Central London and to a much larger network around North London, and the Home Counties.
As dermatology clinical fellow you will be expected to look after patients with skin disease in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. You will work with a team of trainees and consultants.
Applicants should hold MRCP or equivalent and should be registered with the GMC.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting regular outpatient clinics (routine and 2WW)
Supporting surgical operating lists
Attending MDTsCovering referrals from Wards and A&E
Engaging in the development of the service
The department fosters a culture of shared learning and support. There is a large multidisciplinary team. Many clinics follow an attending model structure. There are weekly multidisciplinary team meetings including a clinicopathological case conference, inflammatory MDT and a dedicated connective tissue MDT.
