Renal Medicine Post starting November 2025 - 12 month fixed-term maternity cover

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic physician assistant to join the renal team for 12 months (maternity cover). The successful candidate will support the multiprofessional team to providing care to patients under the care of the renal team. You will work under the direction of a supervising consultant as part of a well established multidisciplinary team in providing acute inpatient care of nephrology patients, including kidney transplant recipients and patients receiving dialysis. You will gain extensive training in all aspects of renal medicine. This post is suitable for both newly qualified or experienced physician assistants.

Main duties of the job
You will work under the direction of a supervising consultant as part of a well established multidisciplinary team in providing acute inpatient care of both transplant and dialysis patients. You will gain extensive training in all aspects of renal medicine, and given the opportunity to develop a specialist interest in peritoneal dialysis, supported by our acute dialysis unit.

Essential
- Postgraduate Diploma/ Master's in physician Associate (formally Physician Assistant) from an accredited UK University
- Bachelor's degree in Life science/ Biomedical/ Nursing or Allied Health Science
- Member of Faculty of Physician Associate at Royal College of Physician or application in progress following attainment of national certification
- Member of Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR)
- Valid national certification and recertification every six years as stipulated by PAMVR
- For USA trained candidates, current and valid certification with the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
