We are looking for suitably qualified individuals to work with our dynamic team in the Royal Free Private Practice Unit (RFL PPU). The role is of Resident Medical Officer and we are looking for Registrar / Senior Clinical level applicants to deliver high quality medical care for patients at RFL PPU.
The post holder will be expected to work as a member of the resident medical staff supporting consultants in both medical and surgical specialities. The role is based at both the Royal Free site in Hampstead and Hadley Wood Hospital in Barnet on a full shift patten comprising of 24-hour shifts and 9am-5pm shifts at the Royal Free, and 8am to 8pm shifts at Hadley Wood. At the Royal Free site, the postholder will be expected to attend the morning multi-disciplinary Board Round, perform ward rounds independently and under consultant supervision, review patients on admission and whenever else is required, request and follow up on investigations and complete routine clinical administrative tasks such as discharge letters. The Hadley Wood site is a day-case facility where the postholder will be expected to support the nursing and consultant team, review patients on admission and complete routine clinical administrative tasks.
Main duties of the job
All RMOs are integral to the will form part of a rolling rota to provide 24-hour resident medicalsupport at RFH as well as day shifts at Royal Free (9am-5pm) and the Hadley Wood site (8am-8pm).
To follow Consultant's instructions for the specific regime for each individual patient.
Work with the patient's multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic patient-centred care.
To be a continuous presence on the ward, performing ward rounds and checking in with the nursing team at regular intervals
To attend the morning Board Rounds at the Royal Free site to discuss patients with the multi-disciplinary team and provide medical updates
To co-ordinate & prioritise own clinical workload.
To facilitate timely discharge of patients by prescribing TTAs by 15:00pm the day before planned discharge date to assist efficient bed management.
To provide emergency medical intervention when required.
To participate in resuscitation (possessing ALS), cardiac arrest and other emergency procedures as per hospital policy.
Send medical discharge summaries to GP at the point of discharge.
