Quality & Safety Midwife
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic candidate to the role of Quality and Safety Midwife.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Maternity Services Quality and Safety team here at the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (North Middlesex Hospital site) , in the role of a Quality & Safety Midwife.
The post-holder will be working with the Quality & Safety Lead Midwife to develop, implement and monitor patient safety and quality pathways with a focus on maintaining excellent standards of care and compliance with national and local standards. They will have a responsibility to ensure that all post-incident processes are achieved, ensuring that emerging themes are identified, shared and recommendations put into action in line with PSIRF. Under the leadership of the Quality & Safety Lead Midwife, the Quality & Safety Midwife will develop and sustain programmes of work to ensure that the Trust meets the outcomes set by regulatory bodies such as Care Quality Commission, NHS England, NHS Resolution (Maternity Incentive Scheme), and any other national, service specific or local performance frameworks (PMRT, MBRRACE, SBL).
Main duties of the job
Through a proactive approach to risk management the post holder will support and develop a culture of informed questioning, positive challenge, appreciative enquiry, data informed analysis triangulation and assurance. Supporting risk management and quality assurance activity, the Quality & Safety Midwife will support compliance on national and local programmes.
The post will involve supporting the Quality & Safety Lead in working closely with Midwifery, Obstetric, Anaesthetic and Neonatal Stakeholders to ensure compliance is met with both the maternity incentive scheme and the NHSE Three Year Delivery Plan and immediate and essential safety actions requirements. The post holder will be an exceptional individual who can influence, lead and motivate staff at all levels and will work proactively to co-ordinate, monitor and support the compliance requirements. The post holder will work closely with the Project manager of NHSR Scheme and other associated projects, and oversee support activities required for compliance.
The Quality & Safety Midwife will also have a strong desire to help patients, families and their colleagues; have the ability to collaborate, communicate, and partner with patients and family members to the extent that they need and desire as well as demonstrate a commitment to all who provide and support healthcare to communicate and collaborate with each other.

- RCA trained
