Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join to our Health Services for Elderly People (HSEP) therapyteam as a Clinical Lead at the Hampstead site. This is a diverse and rapidly evolving clinical specialty area both nationally and locally, with excellent opportunities to grow and develop the role of therapists. The post holder should have extensive clinical experience across the specialities of Elderly Care and Frailty.

Alongside physiotherapy and speech and language therapy (SLT) Clinical Lead colleagues, you will provide leadership to a welcoming and dynamic team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, SLTs, dietitians and therapy assistants. You will use your skills and knowledge to facilitate early, supported discharge from our HSEP wards. We are looking for someone who has innovative ideas and is passionate about being an advocate and champion for preventing deconditioning and promoting harm free care, particularly for the cohort of patients with complex physical and mental needs.

The successful candidate is required to demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification.

You should have proven experience of leading teams including supervision and line management of junior colleagues, an enthusiasm for service development and be motivated to find new and innovative ways of working to meet the ever-changing demands of the service.
