Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Band 7 MRI Radiographers to join the Radiology team at the Royal Free Hospital. This post would be well suited for an MRI radiographer with accredited post graduate training in MRI and those who are working in MRI as senior radiographers.

Education and training are key elements of MRI competence and are prioritized within the department.

The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and a team and patient centered approach to their work. They should enjoy working collaboratively and aspire to always provide the best possible care for our patients, whilst teaching and sharing their knowledge with others.

Royal Free Radiology hasrecently completed a multimillion-pound redevelopment of the A&E department and A&E X-ray services, including an A&E CT scanner, and have replaced scanners in MRI, CT and various x-ray rooms. With the completion of this project there are now four Siemens MRI scanners, three 1.5T and one 3T, providing a range of complex services including HPB, Neuro, urology, and vascular imaging.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be working with Band 6 and 7 MRI specialist Radiographers, MRI Trained Rotational radiographers, and Radiographic Assistants to deliver anextended hours 7-day service in the MRI Department at the Royal Free. They will use specialized knowledge and expertise to produce high quality images to assist in diagnosis and treatment, while demonstrating high standards of care.

The post-holder will ensure patient flow in the Trust by actively managing the flow of emergency and inpatient workload through MRI. They will be expected to carry out protocolling of MRI requests, checking of conditional devices and aid in the booking of complex cases.

The department actively encourages continued professional development (CPD), and opportunities are available for further training and development, in areas such as post graduate study, radiographer reporting and advanced practice.
