Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Community In-patient rehabilitation Band 5 rotation based at Magnolia unit ( Complex multipathology/ Stroke - Neuro) , Capetown ward ( general inpatient rehabilitation ) and Canterbury ward( Non- weight bearing and stepdown pathway) . There is potential to expand the rotations to cover community services in future.

Candidates will need the skills and ability to cope with fast paced environment MDT environment.

The Occupational Therapy team is part of the Integrated Therapies Service and staff benefit from a supportive environment and excellent learning opportunities though collaborative care team working.

The successful post holder will be required to participate in seven day working rota.

Main duties of the job

To provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention to all patients referred in the area of work.

To be an active member of the multidisciplinary team. To participate in clinical projects, service developments, audits and service reviews as agreed and supported by the Team Lead OT and integrated therapies lead.

To actively participate in the available rotations.

  • Evidence of CPD
  • HCPC registration

  • Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate

  • Knowledge of models of OT practice and practical application
  • Knowledge and understanding of evidence based practice.
  • Awareness of group working
