Job summary

The major responsibility of the post is to be a clinical specialist nurse for the growing cohort of patients with ATTR amyloidosis whilst coordinating and participating in a range of clinical research studies/trials of exciting novel disease-modifying therapies.

Main duties of the job

The NAC Senior Research Nurse is an expert nurse within the Trust for the conduct of clinical trials, academic research and studies within the amyloidosis research unit. The SRN works in a collaborative role in conjunction with Principal Investigators, co investigators and all staff involved in the care and supervision of patients enrolled on trials, in the safe set up and recruitment to trials and in direct collaboration with clinical and academic teams recruiting to locally approved studies. Within this there is the need for visibility, expert communication and teaching skills to engender understanding and support for the research process in Amyloidosis. The SRN will represent the Trust in working with external commercial, charities and funding bodies in the delivery of the trials under their management.

About us

North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system - consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. As with other ICS's, we are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level. Whilst all organisations remain as standalone, statutory bodies we have an ICS infrastructure for making shared decisions and agreeing shared approaches.

We are proud of our staff and want to ensure their training allows them to provide excellent clinical care. We are also a training unit for medical students from UCL and St George's University Grenada, and for nursing and midwifery students from Middlesex and City Universities.
