Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Trust as a locum Consultant Medical Oncologist covering Gastrointestinal and CUP cancers. This is a new post which has arisen due to the merger of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This post will be for a period of 12 months in the first instance with a view to a subsequent substantive appointment.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work alongside medical and clinical oncology colleagues at the Royal Free and North Middlesex hospitals and will be essential for service provision as well as the development of the gastrointestinal and CUP pathways.
The successful candidate should have experience of working within a multidisciplinary team; have a wide experience in Medical Oncology but in particular in gastrointestinal cancer management and. acute oncology.

There are infusion suites to treat cancer patients at The Royal Free, Finchley Memorial, North Middlesex and Chase Farm Hospitals whilst radiotherapy is delivered at the Royal Free and North Middlesex Hospital.
The Trust is one of the highest volume providers of colorectal cancer care within London. For oesophago-gastric cancers the Trust works closely with University College London Hospital where upper GI surgery is undertaken but all other oncology treatments are provided by the Royal Free London. The Trust has opened a Clinical Research Facility (CRF) which provides the potential to develop early-phase trials in GI cancers
