Main duties of the job
An excellent opportunity has arisen for 7 consultants in Gynaecology to join us at the Royal Free Hospitals NHS Trust to address the increasing general gynaecology and cancer workload across all our sites.
The candidates is expected to have a broad range of skills in gynaecology but this post is looking specifically for a candidate with a particular special interest in urogynaecology, ideally with experience in performing laparoscopic procedures. We are also looking to appoint consultants with interest in minimally invasive gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery/Endometriosis, gynaecology oncology, menopause and a generalist. There is a small amount of obstetrics and on-call component, and this is subject to change as the requirements in the department change.
About us
There will be regular weekend working up to 21 weekends a year (Saturday- further details from line managers). Whilst the main working site will be Royal Free Hospital - Hampstead site, there will be flexible cross site working to include Barnet General, Chase Farm, Edgware Community and Finchley memorial hospitals.
The successful candidate will be supported by a multi-disciplinary team of gynaecologists, specialist nurses and allied health professionals. The candidate should be keen to work as part of a team and develop good relationships with other staff within and outside of the department. Engagement with innovation, audit, quality improvement and research will be expected.
