Job summary

Responsible for the MDT management of cancer patients for specifictumour sites (including preparation, coordination, documentation, andfollow up of administrative actions from the MDT meetings) to ensure allpatients are discussed (in line with the NHS Cancer Plan). Support theCancer Management team and the MDT meetings. This includesadministrative improvements to facilitate the management plan forpatients discussed at the MDT2. Responsible for managing the collation and monitoring for all cancerpatients' pathways for submission to the National Cancer Waiting Timesdatabase for specific cancer patients diagnosed at The Royal FreeLondon Foundation NHS Trust (this information is required for collectiondefined in the NHS Cancer Plan), and ensuring all appropriate actionsare taken to meet National Cancer Waiting Times Targets.3. Responsible for managing the collation and monitoring for the CancerOutcome Services Dataset (COSD) including Staging information forsubmission to the National Cancer Registry Services (NCRS) for specificcancer patients diagnosed at The Royal Free London Foundation NHSTrust.4. Initiating the collection and analysis of audit data, used to access servicedevelopment needs and service improvement processes, develop actionplans ensuring appropriate outcomes are implemented.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our busy team as a Band 5 Cancer MDT Co-ordinator.

You will support and co-ordinate weekly multi-disciplinary team meetings, ensuring patients are actively tracked through their care pathway, and monitoring cancer waiting times. You will work closely with clinical teams to ensure that meetings are run effectively, and appointments for diagnostic tests and treatments are booked in a timely way. You will support the MDT Management Team in providing cover when a member of the MDT team is away on annual leave, training or sickness.You must have the ability to communicate with all the members of a busy clinical team and be able to balance the demands of an interesting and challenging role.You will work very closely with the MDT Management Team and the Operations Managers in your area to ensure effective information flow. The post holder will assist in ensuring that patients are treated without delay. You will attend a weekly management meeting where you would be expected to report on the status of cancer patients in your specialty.
