Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Speech & Language Therapists to join our supportive team of 15.75 wte SLT's and SLT therapy support worker staff at our Barnet and Chase Farm sites Trust and develop a range of specialist skills.
Main duties of the job
This post will involve working with other members of the SLT team to manage the busy acute medical caseload at Barnet Hospital and to work on our Band 6 rotation, including one rotation at our Neuro Rehabilitation Centre at Edgware Hospital, serving the local population. There will be supported input to gain competencies across the areas of acute elderly & medicine, respiratory and surgical wards, including critical care, voice, head and neck cancer services and our acute stroke wards. The SLT team also work with the Rapid Response Team and offer some services in this area.
Well developed dysphagia competencies and proven skills in MDT working and prioritisation are necessary for this role. Some experience of videofluoroscopy is desirable, but training will be provided as necessary.
The post holder will be expected to contribute to the regular teaching and training programme throughout the Trust.
