Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Audiologist to join our Audiology Department at the Royal Free Hospitals NHS FoundationTrust. The post holder will be based at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals and will help provide a wide range of Audiological services within theteam. The post will be primarily Adult Rehabilitation based with responsibility for managing a complex adult caseload.The successful post holder will be involved in service development work, including working towards IQIPs accreditation, departmental audits andwill assist junior staff with training and development. The role will also involve mentorship of MSc, PTP and STP students within the department.Alongside flexible work patterns there is also the opportunity for home working providing a virtual Audiology service to patients.We hope the successful candidate will be involved in the on-going development of Audiology services within the trust such as tinnitus clinics,transition clinics and advanced Audiological assessment and rehabilitation clinics.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as part of a team to provide a comprehensive Audiology and Hearing Therapy service that includes diagnostic and rehabilitationservices to adults.o To conduct domiciliary visits as required.o To work within National and local set guidelines and protocols in the Department.o The post holder will ensure the delivery of safe and effective routine Audiologyo Assessment and rehabilitation to adult and patients and assessments of paediatric patients.o The post holder must maintain continuous professional development whilst working towards higher levels of professional competence.o The post holder will work with the Chief Audiologists and Head of Service to ensure that clinical and professional standards are maintained atall times.o To ensure the department continues to meet national targets.o To take an active role in areas of clinical audit, research and clinical governance for the Audiology service and contributing to the developmentof evidence based protocols.o To play a lead role in supporting the service to obtain and maintain quality standard accreditation (IQIPS).o To guide and mentor junior members of staff in all aspects of clinical governance clinical ando The post holder will be responsible for planning and prioritising a number of activities within their own work field on a daily basis, within theframework of service delivery priorities as defined by their line manager.
