Job summary
The clinical pathway manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the day-to-day administration functions of the National Amyloidosis Centre and its MRI unit.
Main duties of the job
Appointments at the NAC usually involve up to three-days of numerous investigations and patients will often require accommodation and transport. Precise management of the administration process for this complex patient pathway is required. The post holder will lead a team of Patient Navigators, Clinical Team PAs or Clinical Pathway Administrators and be responsible for the smooth running of the patient journey from referral to discharge from Trust care by ensuring that coordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
This post involves developing strong working relationships and working closely with navigators, clinical pathway administrators and clinical team PAs within their team and other managers, all key members of the multi-disciplinary team within primary and secondary care and service users relating to the service specialty they cover to ensure all patients receive a consistent and effective service. This includes working with consultants, medical, nursing and therapy teams, divisional and operational managers, central appointment office, ward administrators, diagnostic and imaging departments, external agencies e.g. GPs, other hospitals, social services, police etc.
