Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of whole-time Consultant in Rheumatology at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust based at the Royal Free Hospital. Applicants must also be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register (UK) with a Licence to Practise (or be eligible for full and Specialist registration within six months of interview).
The post holder will be active in rheumatology with a special interest in sarcoidosis. They will perform clinics in general rheumatology, sarcoidosis, lupus and in-patient ward rounds. In addition they will provide daily supervision of junior team members on the inpatient wards and day case unit and support the undergraduate teaching programme. The candidate will be expected to actively support service improvement.
Interviews are expected to be conducted in August or September 2024 (the date will be confirmed during the shortlisting phase), and candidates must be within six months of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview.

The Centre for Rheumatology has an international reputation for clinical rheumatology, management of connective tissue disorders, teaching and basic research. The unit has in-patient beds on 11 South ward, and a highly active and successful day care unit held on PITU 2 North. The appointed consultant will be fully involved in the clinical and post graduate activities of the department.
The post holders will join eight other Rheumatology Consultants. The department has an an established international reputation in clinical research, and there are opportunities to support the development of clinical trials.
