Physiotherapy Research Intern

Job summary
This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic Physiotherapy pre-registration student who is interested in research to work in a vibrant research environment. The successful candidates will work closely with Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust clinical academics on a current research project and gain insight into the research processes and conduct of health-related research. There will also be the opportunity to spend time at University College London gaining practical experience of 3D printing for health research.
Dates
The placement will commence on 22nd July 2024 for 5 weeks with a working week of 37.5 hours. Flexible working requests will be considered.
Funding
A tax free stipend of £2,466 will be paid on 23rd August 2024.
A travel allowance of up to £447 will be paid on 23rd August 2024.
Interview
Short listed candidates will be invited to attend an interview in June 2024. We will provide the option of an online interview for those unable to attend face to face. If you are shortlisted and unable to attend the scheduled interview date we will provide an alternative mutually convenient date.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with academic and clinical academic staff members on a project utilising both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. The intern will work on a dedicated project focused on the impact of patient and public involvement and engagement within a specific clinical trial. During the placement, the intern will have the opportunity to work within all stages of the research cycle and across multi-disciplinary teams. They will be exposed to exciting technological advancements and be encouraged to explore the broad range of scope of physiotherapy practice within the research field. They will develop their research skills and reflect upon their learning through didactic learning opportunities, clinical supervision, application of practical research skills and experience of dissemination skills. The intern will have opportunities to understand the role of research and experience the day-to-day life of clinical academics.
