Main duties of the job
A Senior Clinical Fellow (IMT3+, registrar grade) post is available in Acute Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital, London, Hampstead site. The posts will be available immediately for a fixed term period, for a minimum of 12 months, with the option of extending if mutually desirable. The role will be split into 60% clinical and 40% post-graduate clinical teaching.
Clinical work will involve both leading and supporting the medical take, ongoing care of inpatients based on the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and the Adult Assessment Unit (AAU) and working within the Medical Same-Day Emergency Care (SDEC) department. Non-clinical work will focus primarily on the development of the Same Day Emergency Care service with additional opportunities to participate in the department's teaching, audit, governance, and educational activities.
This is an ideal post for bridging the gap between core and specialty training, or for trainees who wish to gain more experience in acute care and service development. There will be support for signing off IMT 3 equivalency with the alternative certificate to enter group 1 higher specialty training.
