Main duties of the job

The Radiology Department is currently undergoing a multimillion projects to redevelop the Interventional Radiology department and the MRI department. Another multimillion pound redevelopment of the A&E department and A&E X-ray services, including an A&E CT scanner, was completed in Autumn 2017. The department actively encourages continued professional development (CPD) and opportunities are available for further training and development.There are 4 CT scanners which perform complex cardiac and vascular angiography, virtual colonography and specialised hepatobiliary imaging amongst a range of general examinations. There is also a radiographer led nerve root injection list. There are also 4 MRI scanners. The MRI Unit performs a wide range of examinations for all the above specialities, notably for Hepato-biliary, Gastroenterology and Renal Medicine.The Interventional Radiology and Cardiology department is comprised of 5 dedicated interventional labs. There is a comprehensive interventional service for all specialties within the trust including cardiac, renal, HPB, oncology and vascular. An Artis Zeego multi axis floor mounted angiography unit is located within theatres to provide imaging for complex endovascular cases.
