We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist or Occupational therapist to lead our dynamic multi-professional therapy team within our Private Practice Unit (PPU).
The Royal Free London PPU is part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The PPU inpatient services is based on the 12th floor of the Royal Free Hospital and currently has two inpatient wards with multi-specialities including, includes Neuro, Care for the Older People, Medical, Surgical, Orthopaedic, Renal, and Amputee services with total of 31 beds. Our outpatient clinic, the Lyndhurst Rooms, is also based on the 12th floor of the Royal Free Hospital. There is also a private healthcare facility in High Barnet,Hadley Wood Hospitalwhich offers private diagnostics, imaging and surgery. The PPU is wholly owned by the Royal Free London and is part of the NHS. It provides care to non-NHS national and international patients. All profit that the PPU generates is reinvested into the Trust for the benefit of all our patients.The PPU is proud to bring the very best skills and standards of the NHS to benefit its private patients and, in doing so, support the continued development of the NHS and the Royal Free London.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a knowledgeable and skilled Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with extensive experience of working within the acute sector and some rehabilitation experience.The post holder will be the head of the therapy team which includes Occupational therapy and Dietetics and will predominately works at the Royal Free Hospital Hampstead site.
Applicants must demonstrate specialist expertise knowledge regarding the application of therapy assessment and evidenced based practice treatment approaches towards patient care. Applicants must have excellent leadership skills, the ability to lead on service development and evaluation, and take part in local and national audits.
The post holder will be working as part of the senior management team within Private Practice and will be wholly responsible for the management and clinical development of the Private Practice Therapy team. The post holder will be supported through the NHS Therapy team for their own clinical supervision and development.
The successful candidate is required to demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. They should have evidenced experience of leading teams and be willing to work in new and innovative ways.
