We are looking for two individuals to join our dynamic team, to train and become a registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.To be considered for this position you must hold at least FOUR (4) GCSEs at grade C (or above) in English, Mathematics, Science subjects and a Level 2 NVQ (QCF): Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills or Pharmacy Service Assistant Apprenticeship (or equivalent). Once enrolled on the learning programme, you will be learning and working to complete a two-year apprenticeship within pharmacy leading to a Level 3 Integrated Pharmacy Technician qualification. You will be required to undertake distance learning, and in the workplace you will complete a comprehensive in-house training programme provided by our own team. You will have the opportunity to rotate through the different areas within Pharmacy.The successful candidate must be self-motivated, willing to work hard, flexible with proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Excellent communication and IT skills, attention to detail and the ability to travel between the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust sites is essential.
Main duties of the job
The successful post-holder will follow a comprehensive two-year training programme under supervision and cover all aspects of hospital pharmacy to include rotations within stores, procurement, inpatient pharmacy, outpatient pharmacy, medicines management as well as the opportunity to undertake additional training in medicines information.Students will balance learning through attendance in virtual and face to face classrooms to achieve the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Apprenticeship certificate. This is a demanding role and will require study both in work and in your own time. The expectation is to dedicate at least 6 hours each week to facilitate the completion of your studies.
