Job summary
JOB SUMMARY One 8 PA post is available immediately at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFL). The successful applicant will be required to provide and develop dermatology services at the RFL in a way that complements and strengthens the existing interests and service requirements of the department. In particular, clinical responsibilities will include provision of the following: Two week wait skin cancer clinics, skin surgical lists, general dermatology clinics, and Teledermatology. There is some flexibility of clinics to cover sabbatical leave. These are 6-month fixed term posts with a possibility for renewal depending on performance and the immediate needs of the department.
Main duties of the job
Locum Consultant Dermatologist to cover for Paternity leave. Dermatology is a high volume, outpatient based service with large RTT and cancer pathways. Both of which are challenging. The RFL is a large specialist skin cancer unit and tertiary referral centre, able to provide specialist treatment for skin cancers which include the following: Patients with melanoma - wide local excision and sentinel lymph node biopsy, and further management with targeted and immunotherapies for patients with advanced disease. Patients with non-melanoma skin cancer requiring Mohs micrographic surgery as well as immunotherapy/systemic treatment. Weekly joint multidisciplinary decision to treat skin cancer clinic alongside clinical oncology and plastic surgery. Tertiary referral clinic for the management of cutaneous lymphoma The post will include weekly attendance at either skin cancer or inflammatory MDT depending on clinical interests and skill set. The post holder will be expected to participate in the dermatology consultant on-call rota which is currently 1 in 13 (with cross cover).
