Main duties of the job

We invite applications for a locum consultant paediatric gastroenterologist - fixed term 6 months - 8 PA post. The post holder will form part of the team of three consultants, working in The Centre for Paediatric Gastroenterology at Hampstead site.

Job responsibilities

The Centre of Paediatric Gastroenterology at the Royal Free Hospital is one of the largest national and International centres with long a history and reputation in managing paediatric inflammatory bowel disease. The post holder will run the weekly paediatric IBD clinic, and participate in the weekly IBD MDT meetings. The post holder will also run regular general anaesthetic paediatric endoscopy lists (done at GOSH at present) and manage inpatients, outpatients and ambulatory patients. There is a pro rata non-resident oncall commitment.

  • Evidence of basic management skills
  • Evidence of involvement in multi-disciplinary audit
  • Understanding of clinical governance
  • Evidence of innovation in teaching
  • Signed off in diagnostic Paediatric Endoscopy
  • Experience in long term management of IBD patients with clear evidence of IBD leadership

Desirable

  • Formal management training
  • Experience at Consultant Level in Paediatric Gastroenterology
