Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for management accounting for specific directorates encompassing both income and expenditure reporting but with specific emphasis on expenditure.
  • To assist the Directorate Accountant to prepare appropriate financial reports to set timelines with written analysis / commentaries for the various departmental senior managers enabling them to manage their areas of the business.
  • To ensure that the period end reports for the directorates are accurate, error free and include all accruals necessary to present an accurate picture of the financial situation of the directorate.
  • To contribute towards the preparation of the Monthly Management Reports and Board briefings, ensuring that information is prepared in a timely manner and is accurate.
  • To assist the Directorate Accountant to prepare incisive commentary on the period end reports explaining major variances to budgets / forecasts.
  • To assist the Directorates to prepare annual I&E budgets in the correct form and according to timelines.
  • To undertake any other duties appropriate to the role and grade as specified by the line manager
