Job summary

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust requires a Customer and Production Coordinator to join our Decontamination Services Team.

The unit facilitates the centralisation of all sterilisation and decontamination services for our Trust. In addition, the unit has been built with the capacity to provide services for external customers looking to outsource these services to a specialist NHS-led unit.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with excellent organisation and interpersonal skills. Your working pattern will be Monday to Friday 22:00 to 06:00, you will receive an enhancement in pay for working unsociable hours. However, flexibility is a must for this role as there will be times when you will need to meet the needs of our customers.

The successful candidate should essentially have previous experience of working in decontamination services and have technical knowledge of reusable medical devices. You should be able to demonstrate the trust values and the have the ability to work in a busy environment.

Main duties of the job

To provide the interface with customers via communications ensuring that their fast track and requirements are fed into the department along with keeping the customer informed on progress and other quality issues.

To provide the customer interface and the data for Decontamination Services (DS) at Chalkmill Drive to ensure that items are processed in a timely manner to meet the requirements of DS customers, and fulfil the requirements of the regulations, guidelines, and quality as specified in the DS Quality Management System (QMS).

To manage the check sheet and stock levels of instrumentation assets in the Trust including loan and consignment stock with regular audits and maintenance of tracking systems and data.

To coordinate the ordering of consumables and repairs ensuring this is completed in a timely cost effective manner.
