Main duties of the job
The appointee will provide clinical care to patients with primary and secondary dysfunction of the immune system.
The RFH Immunology service is the largest in the UK focusing on the care of Primary Immunodeficiency (PID) and Secondary Immunodeficiency (SID). Since 2009 the Centre has been a Jeffrey Modell Foundation international centre of excellence for PID and provides a number of super-specialised PID clinics that are unique in the UK including the Young Adult, Chronic Granulomatous Disease and Bone Marrow Transplant clinics.
The post holder will support the strategic goals of the department by taking responsibility for the following:
- Work closely with consultant colleagues in Immunology and other specialties and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Work closely with GPs and community services in the management of immunology patients and immunology queries
- Actively support other research studies and clinical trials of the IIT
