Main duties of the job
This is a new consultant post based at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals and the focus will be pleural medicine and lung cancer. The job will comprise a mix of inpatient care and outpatient clinics, and there is flexibility to allow successful applicants to grow and develop the service according to their experience. There will be considerable opportunity for service development and participation in clinical research as well as undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

- Subspecialty experience in pleural medicine
- Sub-specialty experience in lung cancer

- Strong teaching skills and experience
- Understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement methodology
- Understanding of and some experience of clinical research

- Ultrasound competence to at advanced operator level as per BTS guidance
- Independent operator for pleural procedures including US-guided pleural biopsy (D)
