We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Theatre Practitioners, experienced within the fields of Anaesthetics

Areas Covered are Main Theatres with the following specialities HPB, General Surgery, Vascular, Liver Trans plant, Kidney Transplant, Renal, Gynaecological, Urology, Breast Surgery, Plastics, Hand surgery, ENT and Orthopaedics and Trauma.

Day Surgery with ophthalmic, Plastics and Gynae.

Maternity with 2 operating theatres.

Also covering external area such as IRCU, Float cover for all airway emergencies within the hospital, MRI and endoscopy.

Main duties of the job

Theatre Practitioners are key to the smooth running of each theatre. ODPs will work closely with the Anaesthetist to ensure that everything that they require each day is ready and available. ODPs will then assist in Theatre and make sure the patient has everything they may need post operatively.

You are expected to deliver safe quality care for patients during their peri-operative phase of care.

The post holder will be expected to have minimum of six months experience of working in Theatres in Anaesthetics and associated specialist qualification is essential. You will be able to show evidence of continuing professional development and hold a relevant degree.

As an ODP / Anaesthetics Nurse you will play an important role in ensuring every operation is as safe and effective as possible. Cover anaesthetic.

Comply with NMC /HCPC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices

Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients, ideally experienced within Maternity, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and/or Urology etc... but we are not limited to recruiting solely in these areas.

Ensure safe administration of drugs in accordance with NMC and Royal Free London Trust NHS Foundation policies

Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with Royal Free London Trust NHS Foundation policy and NMC/HCPC guidelines

Carry out procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and standards

Be responsible for the smooth running of theatre through working as part of multiple disciplinary teams.

Provide safe assistance to the anaesthetist.

Ensure that all areas you work in are adequately stocked and kept in a clean and safe environment

Undertake regular mandatory training
