We are now seeking an experienced and inspiring Principal Pharmacist - Specialist Medicine, based at our Southend site, who embodies these values and is passionate about delivering outstanding, patient-centred pharmacy services.
As one of two Specialist Medicine pharmacy leads within the Trust, this senior clinical leadership role will see you providing expert pharmacy input within Specialist Medicine services, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes, promote medicines safety, and support high-quality care across the Trust.

Main duties of the job
- Deliver excellent specialist clinical pharmacy care, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based use of medicines.
- Lead and develop specialist pharmacy services, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
- Work compassionately with patients, families, and carers, recognising individual needs and promoting shared decision-making.
- Build respectful, collaborative relationships with consultants, nurses, and wider MDT colleagues.
- Provide professional leadership, supervision, and support to pharmacy staff, fostering development and wellbeing.
- Promote strong clinical governance, contributing to guidelines, policies, audit, and quality improvement.
- Champion a culture of learning, openness, and patient safety.
