You will be integral to driving quality improvements in patient care, with a primary emphasis on reducing harm, minimising the incidence of pressure ulcers and complex wounds, and embedding a culture of safety and clinical excellence throughout the organisation.
Main duties of the job
Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, you will be expected to provide visionary and operational leadership, setting the standard for best practice in tissue viability.
You will be required to collaborate with MDT's, senior leaders, front line clinical staff, patients, and carers to deliver safe, effective, evidence-based, and patient-centred care.
The Clinical Lead will champion innovation in wound care, supporting the introduction and evaluation of new products, therapies, and technologies, and ensuring that systems for clinical audit, incident reporting, and outcomes measurement are robust and drive meaningful improvements.
As our Clinical Lead Tissue Viability Nurse you will act as a key resource and advocate for education and professional development, empowering staff at all levels to deliver high-quality care and supporting the ongoing development of clinical expertise within the tissue viability team and the wider nursing workforce.
Play a pivotal role in upholding regulatory compliance, aligning service delivery with national standards and guidelines, and maintaining effective quality assurance processes across all MSE sites. In addition, the Clinical Lead will contribute to service planning and innovation, ensuring that the Tissue Viability Service is responsive to the evolving needs of the organisation and the local population, and that excellence in harm-free care remains at the heart of the Trust's vision and values.
