An exciting opportunity has arisen for theTeam Leader role in Orthopaedics and Traumawithin theatres at our Southend site.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Theatre Manager on both the management and development of our brilliant team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting the orthopaedics and trauma team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
- Collaborating with the Theatre Manager to implement and maintain best practices.
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations within the orthopaedics and trauma department.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to team members to foster professional growth and development.

Main duties of the job
- Initiates and participates in the communication process to facilitate the development of a supportive, cohesive team.
- Provides and receives complex and sensitive information.
- Ensures issues regarding Practice education are addressed and communicated to all team members.
- Provides clinical and educational advice, guidance, and support to all staff.
- Takes a lead role in defining, implementing, and evaluating care standards within theatres.
- Demonstrates assertiveness and challenges others when the rights of patients and others may be infringed.
- Reports all accidents, hazards, incidents, and complaints in accordance with Trust policies, assisting in investigations when required.
- Provide strong professional leadership to enhance quality of care and boost staff morale.
- Holds regular meetings with the team to ensure effective communication and provide updates.
- Provides sound clinical leadership and develops support mechanisms for sharing good practice within the department and also Trust wide.
- Maintains and promotes effective communication within teams and all members of the multi- disciplinary team.
- Ensures timely escalation of issues to Theatre Matron / Theatre Manager.
