Job summary
The Department of Anaesthetics provides anaesthetics, pain services, pre-operative preparation and emergency services to Broomfield Hospital as part of the Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust.
The Department is part of the Division of Anaesthetics and Theatres and has one Clinical Director and Trust-wide leads in Pre Assessment and Pain. Lists also occur at the Braintree Community Hospital which is a standalone elective, Orthopaedic site.

Main duties of the job
The Department of Anaesthetics provides anaesthetics, pain services, pre-operative preparation and emergency services to Broomfield Hospital as part of the Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust. The Department is part of the Division of Anaesthetics and Theatres and has one Clinical Director and Trust-wide leads in Pre Assessment and Pain. Lists also occur at the Braintree Community Hospital which is a standalone elective, Orthopaedic site.
There is a strong history of excellence in anaesthetic education at Broomfield and we have links to the School of Medicine at the nearby Anglia Ruskin University including Honorary Senior Lecturers. There are national courses organised under the auspices of ARU by our consultants.

- Minimum of 2 years experince of obstetrics anaesthesia
- Demonstrable experience in an anaesthetic training post recognised by Royal College of Anaesthetists for training and must hold the Basic level Training certificate or equivalent.
- NHS Experience

- Experience of Ultrasound guided Regional anaesthetisia

- An understanding of the principles of Clinical Goverance and Understanding the principles of evidence based Audit
