Job summary
Work within a specific clinical area to support the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuringthat administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs. Support thePatient Pathway Co-ordinator and Administrator in providing administrative support to all clinicalstaff within the clinical area including Consultants, Nurse Specialists and Junior Doctors. Supportthe Patient Pathway Co-ordinator/Administrator, clinical team, Operational Manager and otherdivisional managers in ensuring the specialty are able to deliver safe and effective services whilstalso ensuring compliance with contractual access targets e.g. the 18 weeks referral to Treatmenttarget. As required, provide cross-cover for other Patient Pathway Assistants to ensure a consistentand effective administration service is maintained at all times
Main duties of the job
Support the delivery of administrative processes along the other patient pathway coordinatorsto ensure the patient's journey is managed efficiently, smoothly and in accordance with targets and agreed timescales in Fracture clinic (T&O)Utilize computerized tracking systems to locate case notes and investigation resultsEnsure patient information is maintained and updated on the appropriate patient informationsystemRe-arrange/book patient appointments as requiredSupport the Patient Pathway Co-ordinator/Administrator to set up, review and adjust clinics inliaison with appropriate clinicians to ensure they meet the demands and expectations ofpatients and other stakeholdersSupport the Patient Pathway Co-ordinators/Administrator, Divisional Managers and Cliniciansin co-ordinating clinic capacity including liaising with patients etc. in relation to cliniccancellations and rebookingsParticipate in the induction of new Administration staff within core team and across the Trust and functions within roleProvide cross-cover for other Patient Pathway Assistants to ensure a consistent and effectiveadministration service is always maintained.
