Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join our friendly Pharmacy team as a Specialist Pharmacist Medication Safety.
You will provide high-quality specialist medication safety services and expert advice to Trust staff demonstrating a high level of professional effectiveness.
This post requires cross-site working on our main hospital sites within the Trust, in accordance with an agreed roster and service need.
Main duties of the job
Deliver a positive, proactive approach to medication safety and learning using a range of strategies and develop skills to challenge existing systems of practice.
Be an integrated member of the Trust-wide Medication Safety Team, deputising for the Trust Medication Safety Officer.
Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services and advice to a specified clinical speciality(s), demonstrating a high level of clinical effectiveness. Take part in the provision of general clinical, dispensary and pharmacy on call services.

- Post-graduate Diploma in general pharmacy practice (or equivalent)

- Leadership qualification
Experience & Skills
Essential
- Significant recent hospital experience inclusive of clinical pharmacy practice
- Demonstrated experience of investigating medication incidents and using incident reporting software (i.e. Datix)
- Transformational leadership style with demonstrated experience of change management and engagement of clinical staff
Desirable
- Previous experience of electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) systems
