Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) provides services to the residents of Southend, Basildon, and Chelmsford. It was formed in April 2020 by the merger of Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust, and Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) provides community health, mental health and learning disability services to support more 3.2 million people living across Bedfordshire, Essex, and Suffolk.

The Programme
EPUT and MSEFT are embarking on the implementation of a UK first of type Unified Electronic Patient Record (UEPR) system that spans Acute, Mental Health and Community services. The new system will be delivered through the Nova Programme, alongside our commercial partners for this significant transformative journey.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will:
Take the lead on all testing aspects of the EPR programme.
Support the creation of the Testing Strategy document for the testing process for the EPR Programme and related projects.
Specify the scale of the testing.
Work with legacy system suppliers to define the criteria and requirements.
Work with the suppliers to resolve any issues surrounding the testing activities.
Analyse and verify the reconciliation and rejection reports generated during testing and data migration stages.
Brief the organisation on reconciliation and rejection reports and help with the resolution of the defects/ rejects.
Support System Configuration Testing and Data Migration
Define the detailed testing activities that will be performed at a specific location.
Refer to tests in the generic specification and analyse and write tests for any bespoke activities agreed with the Organisation.
Select the tests to be used to perform the contractual deployment testing for a particular release.
Ensure selected tests are in an appropriate format, with suitably predicted results, to use during deployment.

Liaise with suppliers to define the criteria for the deployment verification period based on a generic template.
Liaise with suppliers to review testing activities accomplished prior to local testing activities.
Ensure that the test environment is set up.
Provide input to usability test scripts.
Execute deployment tests in front of witnesses.
Re-test any changes that have been made as a result of any failures or issues during the formal testing phase.
Conduct formal re-execution of the deployment tests that did not pass first time through, in front of witnesses.
Undertake test preparation activities such as:
o Scenario localisation
o Test scripting
o Data preparation
o Test scheduling
o Test script mapping
o Provision of the testing environment
Ensure that all required deployment tests are completed.
Ensure that problem management measures are followed to resolve defects/testing exceptions in a structured manner.
Report on usability testing.
Collate verification data and prepare in the correct format for inclusion in reports.
Provide post-Go-Live support.
Support the planning and execution of the cut-over process.
Manage and support all staff/resources allocated to the workstream.
Manage the budget and equipment for the workstream.
