Exciting opportunity for a Health Care Assistant post on a Private Cardiology / Cardiothoracic ward.
Brook Suite is based in the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre on the Basildon Hospital site and is a Private Patient Unit. Brook Suite provides a high standard of care for patients with cardiac conditions and as a Health Care Assistant your role will be to support the skilled registered nurses.
We are looking for individuals who have NHS or care experience and are looking to forward their career in health care or individuals who have experience of working with the public and are interested in developing a career in the NHS.
Training and support is provided by the ward through access to learning, and development but it is important that you are a caring and kind person with a genuine desire to help and support patients and their families. Main duties of the job
As a Health Care Assistant you will be a hugely valuable support to our Nursing and Midwifery teams providing care to our patients. Every day will be different and you will work alongside the rest of the team carrying out a wide range of tasks and assisting with care to support the needs of the patients and their families.

The Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS) brings together key health, care, community, and voluntary sector organisations from across our area. Our aim is to work together in partnership to join up health and care services, improving our populations health and wellbeing and reducing health inequalities. One such example of this collaborative work is the launch of our HCA Academy, an ICS initiative between Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) and Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) to support the incoming Health Care assistant (HCA) workforce. The academy models a one workforce cross system approach to the onboarding, induction, education and experience of Healthcare Assistants.
To support this one workforce model the successful candidate for this post will be required to attend our 5-day (Monday to Friday) face to face HCA Academy Induction Programme at our MSE ICS Education Hub at Brentwood Community Hospital. Your start date will therefore fall in line with the HCA Academy induction dates across the month, which will be discussed and agreed during the recruitment process.
This will be followed by an additional 3-day MSEFT corporate / local welcome during your second week of employment with MSEFT.
Our HCA Academy Induction has been designed to train and support successful candidate through the early stages of their employment at MSEFT, and will provide opportunities to enhance skills, knowledge and experience.
