Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust are looking for a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist with a strong interest in IT to lead and manage the implementation of the medicines aspects of our Unified Electronic Patient Record (UEPR) system.

You will lead the implementation and successful adoption of EPMA within the system across MSEFT, working closely with internal stakeholders as well as collegues at EPUT.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead, manage and develop the electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration System (ePMA) within the UEPR.
  • Lead the implementation across all MSEFT sites and ensure that solution adoption and associated clinical transformation are successful.
  • In conjunction with the Digital services project management team produce all project documentation, including a project initiation document, communication plan, risk and issues logs etc. which describes the work to be undertaken and achieved.
  • Lead, manage and develop the delivery and evaluation of consistently high-quality clinical pharmacy and medicines optimisation services to all clinical specialties, ensuring a high level of clinical effectiveness.
  • Manage and develop the roles of all clinical pharmacy staff to meet the needs of the present and future service and promote clinical excellence.
  • Manage and develop all aspects of medicines management, risk management and clinical governance.
  • Ensure there is safe and cost-effective use of drugs and effective control of drug expenditure across all specialities.
  • Take part in the provision of general clinical, dispensary and pharmacy services.
  • Deputise for the Head of Department.
