Job summary

We are seeking experienced Practice Educator and Neonatal Senior Nurses to join and support and lead our team at our Southend Hospital site.

As a Neonatal Senior Nurse you will be required to Initiate, evaluate and maintain a high standard of care, ensuring that it is evidencebased and compliant with best practice recommendations for NICU services.

This post would suit a qualified Neonatal Nurse that is compassionate, a patient advocate and an effective role model who always strives to deliver excellent patient care.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for leading in the assessment of care needs the development, implementation and evaluation of care.
  • To manage and lead the nursing team and other staff in the clinical area assuring the highest standards of clinical care
  • To ensure effective communication between members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate continuity of care and to promote effective team working.
  • To manage standards of care ensuring family involvement is encouraged.
  • To manage the provisions of high quality service for patients on a continuous basis.
  • Laise with members of the multidisciplinary team
  • To ensure effective supervision of clinical & non-clinical risk reporting to the Neonatal Unit Manager
  • Work closely with the Neonatal Unit matron to lead the clinical development of the unit and the Trust's nursing strategy.
