Job summary

EPUT and MSEFT are embarking on a UK first of type EPR procurement for a single EPR that spans Acute, Mental Health and Community health services. We have already undertaken extensive market engagement have submitted our full business case.

There is extensive interest nationally in this first of type opportunity and we are excited to offer this role to an experienced Senior Project Manager to support us in delivering to the programme.

Main duties of the job

As the Senior Project Manager for EPR you will work alongside a team of PMO professionals. The role requires extensive end to end project management experience and good working knowledge of project and programme Governance and assurance. And will require you to work alongside senior leader to effectively drive and manage their workstreams. You must have the ability to thrive in an environment that is constantly evolving and respond positively to the challenges.

About us

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) provides services to the residents of Southend, Basildon, and Chelmsford. It was formed in April 2020 by the merger of Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust, and Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) provides community health, mental health and learning disability services to support more 3.2 million people living across Bedfordshire, Essex, and Suffolk.

EPUT was formed on 1 April 2017 following the merger of North Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (NEP) and South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT).

Job responsibilities

  • To support the PMO Lead, Deputy Programme Director, Programme Director and Workstream Leads to ensure the purpose of the PMO is widely understood and how the role supports the successful delivery of improvement and transformation work programmes.
  • Produce clear programme documentation, and data for use in reports, local briefings, workshops and meetings for both internal and external to the organisation some of which may be to large audiences or members of the public.
  • Support the overall Change Management agenda as required including supporting events deemed within the scope of this role.
  • Drive improvement delivery and business intelligence team to ensure reporting is supported by metrics and data to evidence levels of progress.
  • Work with clinical, operational and improvement delivery teams to ensure projects are set up with clear objectives, outcomes, plans and risk management to ensure strong monitoring and assurance arrangements can be put in place.
  • To advise and update project and programme KPIs and sources of data.
  • Input into the changing needs of projects that may impact on project delivery to support decision making and resource allocation
  • Develop and maintain the project management reporting tools and to support successful programme and project delivery.
  • Provide pro-active management of risk and issue registers to ensure these are managed and resolved in a timely fashion. Identifying and monitoring critical dependencies between projects and recommending appropriate action
