We invite you to apply for a position in the hospital as a Domestic Assistant.
Under the management of the Estates and Facilities Management team, you will provide timely bed turnarounds following patient discharges. Undertaking the cleaning and preparation of patient bed space areas, Domestic Services Assistant will be guided by our automated system through the use of hand held devices.
Working closely with the Multi- professional teams across the trust and at ward level, you will ensure that vacated beds are made available as quickly as possible to assist patient flow. You will be responsible in maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe bed space environment for patients and assist nurses in line with the National Standards of Cleanliness.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who can demonstrate through their actions and behaviors that they are a team player and able to adopt and adhere to our trust values and behaviors.
Being able to work both independently and as part of a team will be an essential skill. Competency in using hand held devices is desirable, however training will be provided.

Main duties of the job
Your day to day duties will include:
- Daily cleaning of our wards and departments.
- General cleaning duties within designated areas, including cleaning of toilets and bathrooms on a daily basis.
- Damp dusting, cleaning of surfaces and mopping of floors to the standard stated in the cleaning specification for the area. Deep cleaning of any infected area's.
- Food and beverage service of Inpatients.
