Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Financial Management Reporting team as a Senior Finance Analyst.
The aim of the role is to provide financial analysis in a timely manner to support services and senior management enabling them to make proactive decisions and take actions in an effective and efficient time period.
The role is vital in undertaking analysis of financial information such as run rate analysis and unit cost assessments which will be used in the development and production of the monthly management accounts and budgetary control information (monthly and annual). The role requires a strong ability to provide information to various colleagues in the organisation and help direct senior finance management to key budget variances, evaluating and supporting cost improvement programmes, and understanding around cost changes over time.
The role also includes the provision of finance and business support to the operational financial management team. The focus will be to provide clear analytical assessment and forecasting to support strategic financial leadership, delivering robust operational and financial management whilst improving cost effectiveness. The post holder will also deputise for the Deputy Head of Financial Management - Reporting on all areas of monthly analysis.
Main duties of the job
To analyse and interpret highly complex data, facts or situations and make reasoned and logical deductions, compare a range of options and formulate plans.
To validate data, spot trends or key events and use expertise to provide judgements and potential significance
Act as the lead financial analyst across a number of different areas, working collaboratively with the Finance Business Partners and their teams to provide a one financial solution using data and trends to make decisions.
Present high quality financial/statistical and management information in support of the Trust's operational, planning and reporting requirements.
As a subject matter expert for a number of areas act as a reference point on financial analysis matters, providing direction and interpreting ambiguous complex data provide insights, guidance and advice as required.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues throughout the Trust to enable the continual monitoring and development of reporting and ensure it meets the needs of end users.
Ensure continuous monitoring and analysis of financial information to draw on and create data to compare between sites, years and benchmarking organisations.
