Job summary
We are looking for engaged and dynamic Specialty Doctors to join our Elderly Care service her at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust on a permanent full time basis.
Our DME service is an exciting and expanding specialty which has undergone significant change in the last few years and our substantive Consultants have a range of sub-speciality interests.
We are looking to expand our department in order to develop and improve our frailty services across the region across both acute and community domains and improve our frailty liaison services within the trust.
Main duties of the job
This role will enable you to have some flexibility on your job plan by contributing to the acute DME wards, in reach liaison service, and Frailty Assessment Unit.
You will assist in the delivery of a dedicated programme of geriatric care and assume responsibility for patients on Elderly Medicine wards with daily review and support to consultant ward rounds.
Your role will include regular pro-active review of our patients and coordination of care with allied specialties, engagement in multi-disciplinary meetings to direct the care of patients and providingspecialist opinions to other hospital specialties as part of frailty liaison service.
Participation in outpatient clinics will expand your knowledge as will supporting the delivery of patient care within Geriatric Medicine in line with national standards and Care Quality Commission requirements.

- Able to take full and independent responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision.
