Job summary

Working closely with the Senior Director of Estates and Facilities, the Estates and Facilities Site Manager will form part of the Estates Management Team who will be responsible for delivering high quality, professional Estates and Facilities services across the group of hospitals ensuring a safe and clean environment for both patients and staff.

You will be the site lead representative for all matters concerning Soft and Hard FM services and will be required to work with senior colleagues to develop operational service strategies, policies, continuous improvement management processes and put in place a framework to support staff and service development.

You will be professionally responsible and accountable for operational Soft and Hard FM management services to ensure a compliant, professional, high quality, cost effective and efficient service to meet the demands of the organisation, it's patients and staff.

On behalf of the Director of Estates and Facilities Operations the Estates and Facilities Site Manager will act as the onsite lead for all the Soft and Hard FM operational services.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Estates & Facilities Management (EFM) Senior Management Team, local site directors, team leaders, clinicians, senior managers, along with statutory bodies and external agencies, the EFM Site Manager will ensure the successful management and delivery of high quality Soft and Hard FM operational support.

Services including maintenance services, domestic services, catering services (retail and patient catering), Portering services, transport services, post room services, linen and sewing services, grounds and gardens services, telephony and helpdesk services, administrative and contract management services, car parking (for staff and patient and visitors), waste management services, cashiers and general office services and any other related services.

  • Educated to Degree or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Member of relevant professional body
  • Evidence of continuous professional and personal development

  • Relevant engineering/technical qualification
  • Relevant Facilities Management professional qualification

  • Demonstrated detailed knowledge of strategic management delivered at senior management level
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in senior management and track record of managing Soft and Hard FM operational services
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of a range of Soft and Hard FM services provided by the Trust in Facilities Management and Maintenance support functions
  • Budget Management (capital/revenue pay and non pay)
  • Reporting to and working at Board/Committee level
