Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trust Grade Doctor to join our existing team within Rheumatology at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic individual with effective communication and organisational skills, working independently with patients and liaising with colleagues. You will have excellent communication skills plus a keen interest in taking holistic care forward to encompass the needs of rheumatology patients accessing services for Basildon HospitalExperience within Rheumatology would be desirable.

Main duties of the job

You will be supervised by the consultant rheumatologist all the time with training and experience in rheumatology.

The candidate will have opportunity to gain experience in general rheumatology clinics as well as speciality clinics like Ultrasound, Connective Tissue disease, paediatric rheumatology, early arthritis clinic and osteoporosis clinic by rotation or as per training requirement.

You will attend once a week ward round with the consultant.

Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.

Applications are invited for the post of Rheumatology Research Fellow in Rheumatology based at Basildon Hospital, part of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The position is for a full-time (1.0 WTE) post, fixed term for 12 months. The post will provide opportunities for research methodology, participation in NIHR research portfolio and in house research studies (70% of time). The post will also give opportunity of experience in clinical rheumatology by way of rheumatology clinics, ward rounds, specialist clinics along with educational opportunities.
