Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and leader who is passionate about Acute Renal ward management.
The Renal ward at Basildon Hospital is about to be transformed in the 'Essex Kidney Centre Hub' ward.
With substantial investment and plans for redevelopment already begun, we are keen to secure the right person for this amazing opportunity.

We have a fantastic, committed nursing team who are keen to develop the ward into the leading centre in Essex for the treatment of renal conditions.
You will be leading and developing the HUB service in partnership with the Operational, Clinical Site Team and Consultant teams for Mid and South Essex Hospitals - Basildon.

Main duties of the job
- You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the HUB ward
- You will be required to lead and develop team of staff to deliver excellent standards of care, promoting the development of the ward as the Renal Hub of Mid and South Essex Hospital
- The post holder needs to be visionary and dynamic in driving the team forward in a rapidly changing environment.
- You will form an integral part of the day to day running of the Renal Hub ward alongside the operational, clinical site team and wider MDT to ensure all renal patient on the ward are managed and cared for to the highest of standards
- Ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix of nursing experience and skills is in place, assessing the training needs of nursing staff in conjunction with the Practice Education Facilitator Team.
- To carry 24-hour overall responsibility for the clinical area and participate in the management of the hospital in accordance with the Trust's Duty Coordinator policy.
- Act as an effective leader both professionally and organisationally for all members of nursing staff of Elizabeth Fry Ward.
- Be responsible for and manage the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of care, in conjunction with the unit's aims, objectives and ward's philosophy.
- Maintaining and developing high standards of care, whilst planning and implementing ward based and directorate teaching programs
