Job summary

We are inviting applications for a Consutlant Cardiologists with a sub-specaility interest in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention to support the services in the Mid and South Essex Region.

This position will be cover sessions at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre and Princess Alexandra Hospital (Harlow).

Main duties of the job

This is a Consultant Cardiologist post with a specialist interest in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.

The post-holder will principally contribute to the Interventional service, including a full range of complex interventional techniques and provision of Primary PCI on-call cover (currently a 1:12 frequency).
5 weeks per year as consultant of the week at Princess Alexandar Hospital.
The post holder will be expected to work in close collaboration with the existing team of Consultant Cardiologists, Cardiac Nurse Specialists, and Clinical Physiologist , in addition to providing close liaison with other disciplines on both sites.

The supporting activity sessions (minimum 1.5 PA for consultants in accordance with MSE policy, plus 1.0 for specific activity such as approved research, teaching or management activity) will include time for continuing professional development, audit, clinical governance, managerial responsibilities and teaching.

To undertake managerial and budgetary responsibilities as required.Teaching of primary care colleagues and junior medical staff through mixture of case-based review and formal teaching activity
Complete mandatory training on an annual basis

oHigher degree e.g. MD (Res)/PhD
