Job summary

Digital Services are committed to delivering services across the MSE in order to meet the ever-changing user requirements and expectations. The MSE hosts a range of integration, applications and databases supporting key business and clinical departments. With support from within the Development and Innovation team, the post holder will be supporting this innovation through engagement with the clinical and operational services.

This role is for a UX designer within the Digital Development and Innovation team to support, migrate and create new solutions from our existing onsite datacentres to Azure.

Main duties of the job

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust has embarked on a consolidation and migration exercise in to a new datacentre and hybrid cloud solution and many of our system will require upgrading, moving or in some instance consolidation to a new solution.

The post involves, as part of a team, to be responsible for maintaining quality and consistency of the MSE and NHS Brand across our MSE in-house portfolio, and when required assist in application developments with other members of the digital development team.

We are looking for a skilled, motivated and highly organised individual for this role.

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality is required at all times.

Must have excellent oral and written English and have a good Teams/Telephone manner.

Must be able to prioritise, maintain own workload, be proactive and have the ability to work unsupervised.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a highly pressured environment and although standard office hours are the norm you may occasionally be asked to work unsociable hours such as evenings, nights and weekends (usually for deployments). This factor should be considered when applying for this post.

The post requires the specialised expert knowledge gained through real world experience as a User Experience (UX) designer and developer. We are looking for a hybrid role where UX experience is key but also assist in the some of the User Interface (UI).

The team consist of two Digital Development Engineers, three Digital Development Analysts and a Digital Software Developer that you will work directly with, as well working alongside two Digital Business Analysts. The whole team is made up of male and female members, and all age ranges and mixed ethnic backgrounds.The role includes flexibility around core working hours and the ability to work from home, the size of the team requires a rota for both working from home and in the office.
