Job summary
Ladybird Nursery are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join us as a nursery carer on a permanent basis.
You will have experience of working in a day nursery, and will hold a recognised Level 2 qualification as a minimum, and will ideally be working towards or will have a Level 3 qualification. Located in the grounds of Southend hospital, Ladybird Nursery is available to staff at the hospital as well as the public and cares for babies and young children under five. Main duties of the job
Based in our toddler room, supporting the team leader/nursery nurses to provide high quality care and learning.Assist the Nursery Nurses in the development of relationships with the children, their parents and members of the nursery team and provide an environment that offers support and praise for every child.
Support the Nursery Nurses and Team Leaders to create a warm caring, stimulating environment that will encourage and ensure development for each child. Interact with the children to support/encourage/observe and promote independence/development to enable the child to progress. Implement a range of activities on a daily basis to encourage sensory messy play/creativity.
Promote healthy eating practices amongst the children through snacks/meals provided.Assist in maintenance/cleanliness of equipment.Under supervision of a qualified team member assist the team to deliver Early Years Foundation Stage and act when required as a key person to a small group of children.
To attend and contribute to staff and team meetings and assist the team in the implementation and coordination of nursery fund raising and social events throughout the year. Implement and promote all Trust and Nursery Policies for example: Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, and the Children Act 1989 and 2004 (revised).Undertake any other reasonable childcare or nursery related duties that may be required.
