Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Quality Manager Sterile services (Deputy) based at our Southend Hospital Site.
The appointed candidate will deputise across the full range of the manger's role in their absence.
Will assist the manager to provide a professional cost-effective service to all wards and departments within the Trust, and to other organisations with whom supply arrangements have been agreed; and to provide such technical advice as these services require.
The Quality manager will ensure that compliance with the Guide to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for Sterile Services Departments in the NHS and ensuring continued compliance with ISO 13485 Medical Devices Quality System, and the Medical Device Directive 93/42.EEC (CE Legislation).
Will ensure the safe decontamination of re-usable medical devices from, Sterile Services/Sterile Scopes (SUHT only) Department and to assist with the management and education of all staff within that department.
Manages Decontamination records in own area of work.
Main duties of the job
- To apply professional judgement and utilise specialist skills and detailed scientific knowledge when reviewing and interpreting technical data and production reports to ensure a safe service is provided.
- The post holder will be required to provide the department with a quality level of care supporting the Senior Clinical management team in their aim to ensure that an efficient and appropriate service is provided to patients. The post holder will have direct influence on the budget attached to their area of responsibility. However, they will be required to consult with the relevant Director and Decontamination Manager before any spend can be made.
- To assist with the development of the Department's Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with Quality Management Systems and ensure staff compliance to them.
- Duties are to be undertaken site wide in accordance with appropriate departmental SOPs. Professional actions are to be governed by current professional, clinical, and legal guidelines and in line with best practice.
