Job summary

This post is full time fixed term contract (available as a secondment) as an Senior Project Manager.

Since April 2021 Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System, its Local Authorities including Essex County Council and Anglia Ruskin University have been developing a partnership to extend its 'Basildon Hospital as an Anchor Programme'. The focus of our Anchor Programme is primarily people - growing employment and removing barriers to employment and education both directly into health and care, and through the supply chain. We are also looking at our role in responding to the climate emergency.

The next stage is to help to share the learning and impact from the programme across the new Integrated Care System 2021 helping our partners including community anchors (VCSE) to embed anchor principles and practice in their planning and delivery through our local regional and national connections and county wide partnerships i.e Essex Partners, Health and Well-being boards, NHS England and the Health Foundation.

Main duties of the job

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) has worked with partners, to establish, a Healthcare Social Innovation Incubator in Basildon. Its purpose will be to host a network of supportive services, including clinicians, researchers, businesses, social enterprises and innovators and critically the community together to come up with solutions to tackle major healthcare challenges.

The incubator will bring together a range of service providers to develop innovative new business models for tackling these challenges, stimulating new social enterprises that deliver innovative health and social care solutions, as well as enabling other organisations in this space to grow.

The project will also enable community capacity building to empower and build the capacities of local communities and voluntary and community sector organisations. The Incubator, having secured initial investment, now moves to 12-month pilot phase with test delivery alongside Anglia Ruskin University.

The role is critical in not only driving the delivery of the strategic objectives as identified for the programme of work with the Steering Group, but equally in collaborating with other organisations across Essex and beyond to deliver our ambition to improve health and wellbeing for the communities we serve. The role holder will be an ambitious strategic thinker who excels at building and sustaining partnerships to turn strategy into reality.
