Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our busy Main Theatre Admin, to provide reception and administrative support on a Part Time basis of 20 hours per week, primarily 13:00-17:00 Monday to Friday.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and IT experience. It is essential that the candidate is able to work within a multidisciplinary team, have a friendly and professional disposition and possess time management skills.

Main duties of the job

To accurately input patient data into electronic theatre data systems. Act as reception for Theatre.

Maintain records of visitors to the department.

Deal with telephone and other enquiries to the Theatre department quickly and effectively in a professional manner.

Checking and confirming Patient Hospital Numbers using Lorenzo. Producing Patient Labels for Theatre using Lorenzo.

Ensure changes to lists have been authorized by the Theatre Floor Coordinator and are communicated to recovery, the Anaesthetic room and the theatre concerned.

Update and amend Theatre Man when requested by Senior Theatre Staff.

Collect and return patients to the ward if department is short of relevant staff. Arrange for transportation of medical equipment and specimens between sites.

Responsible for maintaining accurate records of equipment loaned to other hospitals.

Adhere to the theatre and Trust policies when sending specimens to other departments.

Managing patient notes in line with information governance principles.

To carry out any other Administration duties as required by the Theatre Department

Required to work on own initiative and as part of a team, planning and prioritising own workload

Provide continuity of service in the absence of work colleagues

Be flexible to the needs of the department and undertake any other duties as appropriate to the post.
